Vivid, meaningful visual imagery experienced internally, with eyes open or closed, including light patterns, symbolic imagery, inner landscapes, or revelatory scenes. Distinct from ordinary imagination by their vividness and the sense that they were perceived rather than constructed.
The higher number includes anyone who mentioned unusual visual experiences; the lower number counts those who described them as a distinct visual phenomenon with real experiential detail.
