An opening that began during hands-on treatment
Some people place the start of their awakening inside a session of hands-on or body-based treatment from a practitioner. That includes massage, craniosacral work, Rolfing, acupuncture, Reiki and other energy healing, and somatic experiencing. It is one of the less common starting points in the collection.
What decides it is what the account names as the occasion: the practitioner's hands or the treatment itself, rather than anything that was said. The reason for the visit does not matter; a session booked for a bad back counts if the opening happened inside it. Practices people do on their own, such as yoga or breathwork, have their own trigger, and bodywork taken up afterwards to feel grounded again is counted as one of the things that helped people settle.
And then I just kind of traveled again through space and time back into my body on the massage table.
